NIA Expands Probe Into Red Fort Blast With Raids in Kashmir
NIA Conducts Raids in Shopian and Pulwama as Red Fort
Blast Probe Widens
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) intensified its
investigation into the November 10 Red Fort blast by conducting fresh searches
in Jammu and Kashmir on December 1, 2025. The agency raided the homes of three
individuals recently arrested for their alleged involvement in the deadly
explosion that claimed fifteen civilian lives.
According to officials, searches were carried out at the
residence of Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian and at the homes of Dr.
Muzammil Shakeel and Amir Rashid in Pulwama. All three men were
arrested for reportedly maintaining links with Dr. Umar Nabi, identified
as the prime suspect who drove the explosive-laden vehicle into the Red Fort
complex.
Authorities stated that the raids were aimed at securing
critical evidence, including digital devices, communication records, and other
materials that could help trace the operational network behind the attack.
Investigators believe the digital footprint of the accused may provide key
insights into planning, coordination, and possible external support.
The NIA is expected to carry out additional operations in the coming days as it works to dismantle the wider network associated with the blast.
